Procurement Operations Assistant

Working hours: Minimum 35 hours per week, working a minimum of 40% across each month in the Territorial Headquarters, London, SE5 8FJ

Do you have a passion for delivering outstanding procurement support within a dynamic and mission-driven organisation? The Salvation Army is looking for a Procurement Operations Assistant to join the Operations Team in our Procurement Unit at our Territorial Headquarters in London.

As part of a collaborative team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our procurement processes, managing queries, supporting stakeholders, and maintaining high standards of service delivery. Key Responsibilities

• Act as a point of contact for procurement-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage the Procurement Maildrop, Task Bar, and telephone call queue to ensure timely and professional responses.
• Process and approve purchase requisitions, orders, and supplier onboarding in our P2P system.
• Support operational buyers and help manage procurement contracts and catalogue updates.
• Run reports and provide performance insights to the Procurement Operations Manager.
• Train stakeholders in procurement procedures and offer end-user support on P2P systems.
• Troubleshoot issues related to purchase orders, invoicing, and payments.

The successful candidate will have:

• Up to 12 months' experience or strong understanding of procurement processes in a complex organisation.
• Familiarity with P2P systems and purchasing software such as Unit4 or SAP.
• Excellent organisational, administrative and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• A collaborative mindset and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Empathy with the Christian ethos and values of The Salvation Army.
• Experience working in procurement within the third sector (desirable)
