SEND Support Assistant

Enfield | Full-time | Monday to Friday | 8:30am - 4:00pm

A welcoming and inclusive SEND school in Enfield is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. About the Role

As a SEND Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils achieve their full potential by providing tailored support both in and out of the classroom.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties and communication needs.
  • Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence and active participation throughout the school day.
  • Supporting pupils with learning activities, personal development and positive social interactions.
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to deliver personalised learning programmes.
  • Helping to create and maintain a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families to support each child's development.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who is patient, compassionate and committed to helping children succeed.

You will have:

  • A minimum of 3 months' experience working with children or young people in the UK (essential).
  • Previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker or Care Assistant (highly desirable).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, resilient and proactive attitude.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team while using your own initiative.

An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (desirable), although we can assist you in obtaining one
