About the role:
We are currently recruiting for two Technical Support Officers to join the Green Space and Heritage team at West Suffolk Council. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking and supportive team, working for an organisation that wants the best for West Suffolk communities and businesses.
You will be joining the Technical Support team in providing a reliable and efficient administration service for the those that use and manage our open spaces, parks, play areas, trees, landscapes and cemeteries.
The role will include answering internal and external telephone enquiries and responding to emails across all areas of our service, financial administration duties, using GIS mapping to assist with resident’s enquiries, assisting with projects, supporting the implementation of new processes and wide range of both straightforward and more complex office duties.
The post holder will be expected to have knowledge of, and/or ability to learn, a broad range of council services to provide a high standard of service to customers, contractors, and suppliers.
You will possess excellent interpersonal, numerical and IT skills and have a proven track record of working with MS Teams, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the creation of databases and spreadsheets.
We are looking for someone who wants a varied and at times challenging administrative role. The team is small so it’s important that you can work well under pressure, meet deadlines, be highly organised, a good team player and able to multi-task. Attention to detail and accuracy are all essential for this role. You will need to have a positive can-do attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow with the service.
This role will require you to work initially at West Suffolk House in Bury St Edmunds or West Suffolk Operational Hub, on the outskirts. After a period of training, operational and individual need will be reviewed and Mildenhall Hub will also be an option to work from in the north of the district.
